Alrighty!
Big races this evening and it should be tough to call. These events are always difficult on cappers and I usually hide in the beer tent as horses that come out on crutches often get the surprise wins!
For what it is worth, I have a few suggestions for tonight.
**Keep in mind I always have a WPS bet on my top picks. IF odds fall too far, I MAY fforget the Show bet and beef up the WP bet. IF the second choice gives me attractive odds, I COULD go across the board ($10/$20/$30) on him.
RACE1: Flight Time Cash/Life Source.
Methinks that Flight could post an upset this evening. 2/3,5,6 Exactor if the numbers look good.
RACE#2: Springtop
This girl will be tough to beat I think BUT COULD be challenged by "Son of Grace
I might look at a 8/6,4,7 exactor. I have a "feeling' that two factors could come into play here and make for a good payday - #7 should have higher odds but this post is the best at Woodbine for winning % and second, Waples got the call when Ouelette backed off to run "Magician. I'd like magician but the 9 hole bothers me at Wdb.
RACE#4: Tough race to cap. I like 2 horses here but there may still be some driver changes on my first pick.
That said, Handle Hanover is a good bet for the win with Alpine junction a very close second. I might work a trifecta box 3,1,5 on this one.
Race5: Skydancer Hanover.
Should have a good run at top two here WPS bets and maybe a 7/1,2, ex.
Race 6: Brandons Cowboy/I am a Fool
This will be a tightly contested race. Any one of 4 horses could take this one.
For that reason I will likely cover with a good WPS bet.
Race 7 : A good one. 3 horses stand out to me here and they have beaten each other up a bit in the past so it should be tight. Last week Bunny Lake took the stretch drive to Eternal Camnation and nosed her out at the wire. Tonight Eternal has the inside post and Bunny the same 5 hole she enjoyed last week - hsould be tight. Now throw "Worldly Beauty into the fray off last weeks "scratch" and you have a dilemma! I will still be deciding at post but I am likely to SERIOUSLY consider the move to scratch Worldly Beauty last week in favour of having her fresh for this big race.
My prediction: 4-5-1 with maybe a photo thrown in for fun?
Race8: Art Major has the 5 hole and should handle this field tonight. Watch for "Four Starzzz Shark" as a pressing second.
5/2,8,6
Race 9: Foools Goal.
You should make money on this entry but also look closely at #7 "Rotation". Not only the best post position, but also Trevor Ritchie on board. With a little guts, this horse could be an upset with good looking odds.
1/7,3,9
Race11: Another tough card. Admirals Express SHOULD be bet as the favourite here ; however two other horses are very capable of showing him their backsides if they give a top performance. These are big races so I am going with that concept.
Bidding for Time will be my WPS horse - Condren in the hottest driver right now and this horse has ability. - should get a good 3-1 or more.
5/4,7,6 if I have a fatter bankroll by this point!

What I have been finding as of late is that in these high stakes harness events., the MOST logical horse has been off his game and misses by a hair. Last night was a prime example. Top drivers were getting themselves penned in and their late charge was shy of the mark. I am hoping that these guys learned something last night and we get some gems here!

What I have been finding as of late is that in these high stakes harness events., the MOST logical horse has been off his game and misses by a hair. Last night was a prime example. Top drivers were getting themselves penned in and their late charge was shy of the mark. I am hoping that these guys learned something last night and we get some gems here!

RACE#7: Just some info to note. Worldly Beauty was scratched last week apparently to undergo a "hoof operation" to remove a "puss pocket" lmao Now although prognosis sounds good for this procedure, I am up in the air as to how well healed she is. I cannot see me getting a real read on her so I have a decision to make. Might be a BUnny-Eternal-Worldly plus a couple others for my tri ?????

***Not what I consider a good night really. As I said at the start yesterday, theseraces seem to showcase some unlikely talent. I am starting to think that those horses who give it all in the qualifiers, are often surprised by horses who do "just enough to get by" in those same qualifiers.
